Binance Wallet is available for Chrome
Binance, the main cryptocurrency exchange platform by volume of operations, announced the launch of a beta-stage Chrome extension for its Binance Wallet, designed to optimize interaction with decentralized applications (dApps) on Web3 from the desktop browser.
According to the exchange in a statement, Chrome’s extension in its beta version allows users to connect their Binance Wallet to dApps, manage cryptocurrencies, and perform operations on compatible networks, such as Ethereum or Binance Smart Chain, from a browser environment.
With this release, Binance Wallet has a version similar to the traditional MetaMask web wallet.
As reported by CryptoNews, Binance Wallet employs a multi-party computing model (MPC), where the private key is fragmented. One of these fragments is protected by Binance, which means that users have no total control over their keys, limiting self-custody.
This approach, though safe and efficient for certain use cases, differs from the traditional Bitcoin wallets, where the user is the sole custodian of their assets.
CryptoNews reported in late July that Binance Wallet released a web version for the exchange, allowing it to operate from the traditional interface without relying on the mobile app.
